He’s researched and authored dozens of reports in his career – and is known for his appreciation of clarity and brevity. Randall is often called upon to review draft reports, assess strategic plans, and judge competitive grant competitions. In recent years, he has become a trusted advisor for philanthropic partners seeking guidance on how to integrate a climate lens into their work.

Speaking Engagements
Randall is an accomplished public speaker. In both English and Spanish, he offers compelling insights on economic development and climate topics, always infused with a sense of humor and a high level of audience engagement. Randall has a particular expertise in “climate-smart money” – which explores opportunities and challenges associated with our changing climate and economic development, philanthropy, and investment. Kempner has presented to a wide variety of groups throughout the Americas — ranging from non-profit executives to Corporate CEOs and national political leaders.
Facilitation
Many initiatives fail because the participants are unable to develop a common vision for the specific goals of the initiative and/or priorities for action. Prosperity Strategies can help by acting as an outside facilitator to guide those difficult discussions, either at the launch of an initiative or at times when the dialog between the various participants seems stuck.
Training Seminars
Prosperity Strategies provides ½ day to 2-day workshops on economic development theory and practice. These seminars range from comprehensive sessions on designing cluster-based economic development strategies to short leadership development seminars for economic development professionals and community leaders concerned about climate action. The seminars can be customized to specific economic or industry sectors, and are always interactive, hands-on experiences. Our sessions are designed to transfer our insights and technology to participants who will use them in the field.
Long-term Consulting Engagements
The hardest part about economic development is not the theory, but the practice. Randall Kempner has participated in or led economic development initiatives in five countries and nearly a dozen industries. Working from this experience, Prosperity Strategies is well suited to serve as the lead partner in crafting an integrated economic development strategy for a region or cluster. We have developed a core methodology and a series of analytical tools designed to guide participants through an entire initiative – from the initial business environment assessment to the final project evaluation. We also have the flexibility to design project elements that will fit into plans already underway. Every client is different, so our solutions are too.
